The new Panarea 125 looks awesome with its curvaceous, classic-style body shell that mirrors the designs of iconic premium scooters from Vespa and Lambretta. The Honda Genio 125 is surely blinking on the Panarea’s radar, too.
Designed to be timeless, this Benelli bike will likely stand out from the zillion other scooters wearing racing stripes or loud graphics. You will likely fall for its immaculately clean styling, which is only emphasized by the solid red or white color schemes. There really is beauty in simplicity.
The Panarea 125 is propelled by a 124cc SOHC four-stroke, two-valve, single-cylinder engine that uses fuel-injection technology for better fuel mileage and to comply with global emissions standards. Although the scooter is equipped with a modern electronic ignition system, Benelli thought it wise to install an old-school kickstarter, which is consistent with the model’s classic spirit.
Beefing up the Panarea 125’s appearance are chunky 100/90 and 110/90 tires fore and aft, respectively, on 12-inch black rims. The suspension comprises a front telescopic fork and a single shock at the rear-mounted on a single-sided swingarm, while braking needs are taken care of by a single disc brake in front and drum brake at the back. This bike tips the scales at 104kg dry and has a fuel tank capacity of 4.6 liters.
The neoclassic instrument panel is a combination of analog and digital displays, while the head-, tail-, and turning lights are all LED.
Underneath the wide, well-padded seat, meanwhile, is a deep and spacious compartment that can accommodate a half-face helmet. This underseat storage can be accessed simply by pressing a button on the key ignition cluster. In addition, the flat floor bed of the scooter provides added space for a small bag.
