BMW Motorrad has launched plenty of motorcycles in the Philippines in recent years, but this upcoming one could be one of the biggest to date: the all-new F450 GS.
This entry-level GS has garnered a lot of interest across the globe since it made its debut a while back. We’ve known for quite some time that it was making its way to the Philippines since it’s already on BMW Motorrad’s local website, but the brand’s recent activity on social media is what makes us think that the launch is right around the corner.
Last week, on July 1, at around 12pm, the BMW Motorrad Philippines Facebook page posted “450” on its timeline. That’s it. Just the number 450. No photos, no videos. Nothing. And it already says a lot.

It basically suggests that the launch is happening sooner rather than later, and even if we don’t have an official date yet, we see no reason for this sudden and unusual social media post other than to generate interest for a soon-to-be-unveiled model. If that was the goal, then it’s surely working.
If you don’t know what the F450 GS is, it’s the newest and smallest GS to date. It’s powered by a 420cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder mill that generates 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. It weighs just 178kg. It’s a big deal because this is an untapped part of the market for the German motorcycle brand. It’s a segment that’s earned attention in recent years thanks to the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the CFMoto 450MT.
