BMW Motorrad’s superbikes and hypernaked bikes will be getting a couple of aesthetic and performance updates in the near future. To be specific, the M1000 RR, the S1000 RR, the M1000 R, and the S1000 R will be released with even more ‘dynamism,’ says BMW.
While each bike will get its own special upgrades, BMW has added the M short-stroke throttle on all five bikes to improve handling, and has made all the bikes compliant with Euro 5+ emission standards.

All right, let’s break it down, starting with the BMW M1000 RR. Previously topping out at 212hp, the superbike will get an increase in output to 216hp. That bump in power will be complemented by a surge in downforce thanks to the aerodynamically optimized M Winglets 3.0, which are newly developed by BMW M.
Overall handling has also been improved thanks to that M short-stroke throttle and some tweaks to the Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) system. The DTC now has slip control and slide control functions that work in tandem with a new Brake Slide Assist feature to give the rider better control over the bike.

Moving on to the BMW S1000 RR, the German manufacturer has focused its improvements specifically on track driving with the Pro riding mode coming standard on all models. The new mode comes with two new Race Pro styles that will configure throttle response, torque, the Engine Brake and Hill Start Control Pro functions, and specific settings on the ABS for distinct and exciting riding options.
For the hypernaked BMW M1000 R, the biggest updates will be noticed on its new dual-flow LED headlight and the refined DTC system that should provide tighter control and handling (alongside that M short-stroke throttle).

The BMW S1000 R, meanwhile, is getting a beefier engine that will produce 170hp. This new powerplant comes standard with Shift Assistant Pro, which should smoothen gear changes. The bike will also be equipped with a new dual-flow LED headlight, taking notes from its double-R siblings.
These updated models will come in an array of new colors, too. With all bikes receiving significant aesthetic changes, it may look like riders are getting four brand-new BMW motorcycles very soon.
Exact release dates and prices have yet to be revealed, but in the meantime, which one of these bikes would you pick up? Which one of them best embodies ‘dynamism’ to you?
