Top Gear Philippines Philippine Car News - Alpine to contest 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours, reveals its contender

The joint Renault/Caterham partnership may have been established just over four months ago--in November 2012, to be exact--yet Alpine, the brand born out of the partnership, has already revealed its entry for both the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series.

"Since the announcement of Alpine’s revival on November 5 last year, we have been moving forward step by step," said Société des Automobiles Alpine-Caterham chief executive Bernard Ollivier. "The unveiling of this splendid car marks the beginning of another phase. It will turn a wheel for the first time very soon, and its maiden race will follow shortly afterward."

Although Alpine didn't reveal any technical details or performance numbers of the car, which is known as the N°36 Alpine, the company did reveal that the car will be driven in the iconic endurance race by an all-French lineup composed of Nelson Panciatici, Pierre Ragues and Tristan Gommendy. Paul-Loup Chatin, another Frenchman, has been chosen as the car's reserve driver.
