The all-new Isuzu D-Max is finally out of the shadows. The Japanese car manufacturer has just revealed its next-generation pickup truck, and there are some pretty big changes to take in.
Firstly, the looks. The D-Max’s front-end is now one of the burliest in the market thanks to a massive grille featuring two bold cross-bars and a rugged design. This is flanked by a pair of modern new headlights with prominent daytime running lights as well as two-unit foglight housings.
On the sides you’ll find relatively muscular fenders as well as prominent, albeit simple, character lines. The rear features new LED ‘Edge’ tailights that we have to say look rather elegant compared to the rest of the vehicle. Finally, there’s an integrated step on the rear bumper for easier access to the bed.
The interior has been completely overhauled, and frankly it now has a vibe that can better compete with the rest of the segment. There’s a very angular two-part dashboard design with attractive A/C vents and a minimalist instrument cluster. There’s also a new 9- or 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability, new door trim and textured surfaces.
Powering the all-new D-Max are two engine options. There’s the familiar 1.9-liter RZ4E turbodiesel engine capable of 150hp and 350Nm of torque, then there’s a 3.0-liter Blue Power capable of 190hp and 450Nm.
No word yet on when this will arrive in the Philippine market or what specs will be available, so for now check out the images from Thailand. Are you looking forward to this pickup truck’s local arrival? Let us know in the comments.
