Mercedes-Benz has a new offering in the local market, but this time around, the carmaker is going big—literally. It has now introduced a new commercial vehicle to add to its stable.
Auto Nation Group (ANG), the exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles here in the Philippines, has just announced the arrival of the new Arocs heavy-duty tipper. Let’s take a closer look.
The new Arocs features a robust cab design that makes it capable for both off- and on-road conditions, says Mercedes-Benz. The truck is powered by a Euro 4-compliant OM471 in-line-six engine that boasts peak output figures of 449hp and a whopping 2,200Nm of torque.
This powertrain is mated to the Mercedes PowerShift 3 automated gearshift that promises precise gear selection and improved fuel efficiency. The PowerShift 3 uses sensor technology to tailor gear selection according to the current driving condition and the amount of load on the truck.
The Arocs also features an electronic brake system that’s based on a pneumatically operated dual-circuit airbrake system. It comes equipped with ABS and acceleration skid control as well.

“The Arocs Tipper delivers what the practical realities require on the construction site and on the road,” said Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles Philippines general manager Carlo Arguelles.
No word on the exact pricing, so you might have to get in touch with a dealership for more details on that. But what do you think of Mercedes’ newest offering?
