This is it: Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has finally unveiled the all-new Outlander. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.
The next-generation Outlander debuts with a more stylish front end featuring Mitsubishi’s signature Dynamic Shield design. Frankly, it now looks a lot more like the refreshed Montero Sport, which also gives the SUV a more uniform Mitsubishi-like design.
Overall, it gets a more muscular appeal thanks to its boxier physique. It also gets more pronounced fenders and new (optional) 20-inch wheels that add to its brooding stance.

The Outlander also boasts a premium interior with a dark cabin accentuated by a good dose of snazzy orange trim. All seven seats also sport orange contrast stitching. Other variants are available with an even classier white-clad interior with white quilted leather seats and a clean-looking dash.

There’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with an Android Auto- and Apple CarPlay-compatible nine-inch infotainment system that comes standard. There’s also a wireless smartphone charger here as well, along with USB-A and USB-C charging ports.
Under the hood, the new Outlander packs a 2.5-liter four-banger that’s mated to an eight-speed CVT gearbox and generates 181hp and 254Nm of torque. No hybrid powertrain was announced just yet, but it won’t come as a surprise if Mitsubishi made one available in the future.

The real mechanical highlight here, though, is the new Super All-Wheel Control system that provides multiple drive mode options to optimize both on- and off-road performance. As a bonus, even the non-4WD models come equipped with this feature.
As for the other extra features, higher Outlander variants get nifty tech such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. A windshield-display 10.8-inch full-color head-up display and a 10-speaker Bose audio system is also available.

“Based on the product concept ‘I-Fu-Do-Do,’ which means authentic and majestic in Japanese, the all-new OUtlander has been crafted into a reliable SUV with significantly upgraded styling, road performance, and a high-quality feel to satisfy the needs of customers who want to expand their horizons and take on challenges of every kind,” said MMC chief executive officer Takao Kato. “With the launch of the all-new Outlander, we will first expand our sales in the North American market and then aim for global growth.”
We know the Outlander PHEV just landed here on our side of the globe, but do you think Mitsubishi Motors Philippines should eventually bring this new one in, too?
