We’ve covered the new BYD Atto 3 a couple of times now. No, we’re not referring to the mild update that the local market just got. Instead, it’s the newest version sold in China that we’re talking about.
We’ve seen the exterior of it, but details about its tech and powertrain were yet to be confirmed. Heck, BYD hasn’t even shown the interior yet…until now.
After weeks of waiting, the 2025 BYD Atto 3 has been formally launched in its home market. With it, the full specs and features of the popular electric crossover. We finally get to see what’s on the inside, too.

We’ll do a quick pass of the exterior. Refreshed bumpers front and rear, a redesigned rear spoiler plus a slightly reshaped D-pillar, reconfigured tail lights, and a new choice of wheel designs.
Inside, the surfaces have been simplified with smoother finishes all the way. Larger screens are also present, both for the digital cluster and infotainment system. For the latter, there’s a choice between 12.8- or 15.6-inch displays, depending on the variant. But what’s shocking here is that center screen no longer rotates. We’re glad the quirky pull-back door handles and ‘guitar string’ cubby holders remain, though.
Other interior changes? There are more mature interior color schemes. BYD is keen to highlight the tan-brown-black cabin for what’s likely to be the range-topping variant. Also new inside is the flat-bottom steering wheel lifted from the eMax 7 MPV, as well as an electronic column shifter that frees up more space in the middle.
In terms of tech, it’s now confirmed that the new BYD Atto 3 gets the ‘God’s Eye’ advanced driver assist system. That means a barrage of cameras and a higher level of semi-autonomous driving capabilities. ‘God’s Eye’ even allows for full autonomous driving on the highway (depending on conditions), automated lane changes, and even route memory.
As for powertrains, it remains the same. Customers can choose between a 50kWh or a 61kWh battery pack with BYD Blade Battery technology. Range is between 430km to 510km based on the China light-duty vehicle test cycle or CLTC. Power is still rated at 201hp and 310Nm, all of which are sent to the front wheels.
