Those waiting for the next-generation Nissan Patrol must be some of the most patient people in the world. The current model is now 14 years old, first being introduced in January 2010.

Nissan has been teasing the world about the all-new model for several months now. First previewed in March, the Japanese automaker has mentioned the redesigned SUV in passing, and several spy shots have surfaced on the internet.

Nissan Patrol 2024 in the Philippines

Now, there’s (semi) official news about its premiere. At the very least, the company said that it’s set to be shown before the end of the year. Its debut can also be as early as August 2024.

That’s according to Nissan Americas chairperson, Jeremie Papin. Automotive News quoted Palin saying “There is a good time of the year to introduce model-year changes. This year we will have model-year 2025 introductions that will be extremely close to what we consider the ideal introduction [timing, which is typically late in the US summer].”

Summer in the US this year starts on June 20, but it’s unlikely that Nissan will premiere it on that date. Australian motoring publication Drive estimates that it could finally be revealed before the end of August. It's around that time most automakers in the US start showing off their respective models for the 2025 model year.

The 2025 Infiniti QX80 is the luxury version of the next-gen Nissan Patrol

The Patrol’s more luxurious twin, the Infiniti QX80, debuted in April 2024. We can expect some of the features from the Infiniti to trickle down to the Nissan, namely its off-road software and hardware.

Over in North America, the Nissan Patrol is known as the Armada. Historically, at least, it’s visually identical to the global Patrol, save for minor detail changes to its bumpers and lighting. Interiors are likely to be the same as the worldwide model.
