After reviving the Captiva as a new MPV a while back, Chevrolet Philippines has breathed new life into the nameplate once more as it launches the Captiva EV and Captiva PHEV.

The carmaker did a fast one on us, folks. These two new models were merely announced on social media, seemingly flying under the radar. But as low-key as that sounds, these are arguably the two most relevant models Chevy has launched in recent years. For one, the brand has no electrified offerings in its local lineup. To add to that, the Captiva PHEV and EV now enter a very lucrative electrified crossover market dominated by a few Japanese brands and, of course, BYD.

In terms of design, the new Captiva is a far, far cry from the model we saw a while back. Just to note, the PHEV and EV models are visually identical. This new Captiva sports a sleeker and more modern design, and unlike its MPV sibling, this actually looks like a good fit in 2026. The aggressive-looking front end gets thin, swept-back DRLs with headlights enclosed in a sharp-looking trim flanking the front grille. It sits on rather stylish two-tone alloy wheels

We don’t have any photos yet of the interior, but it looks like the two Captivas will share the same cabin. Both of them will get 15.6-inch infotainment systems with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The PHEV will also have a panoramic sunroof, and we’re assuming that’ll also be equipped in the EV.

What we do know is that both PHEV and EV models will have rated outputs of 201hp and 310Nm of torque. Both will also have CCS2 charging ports with both AC and DC charging. The PHEV has a 2.5kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery and supports up to 3.3kW AC and 24.6kW DC chargers, while the EV packs a 60kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery and can take up to 6.6kW AC and 120kW DC chargers. The latter supposedly has 415km of range.

Unfortunately, prices are still unavailable, though we have already reached out to Hariphil Asia Resources to confirm. Once we do get the numbers, we’ll share them here, so watch this space. For now, do tell us: Do you think Chevrolet can compete with other established crossovers with its newly electrified Captiva? The comments section is open.
