In the American market, big SUVs are king. Ford helped build this market with one of its famous nameplates, the Expedition, which made its debut way back in 1996. To celebrate the occassion, the Blue Oval is giving the 2027 Expedition a ‘30th Anniversary Appearance Package’ with some unique detailing.
The big standout here is the special Blue Ember paint job. This unique metallic tri-coat exterior shifts in appearance based on how the light hits; this hue is usually reserved for the Mustang Dark Horse, the track-ready variant of Ford’s ubiquitous pony car. But three decades of the Expedition is a special enough milestone to warrant giving the full-size SUV this color.
The 30th Anniversary Appearance Package for the Expedition also equips the SUV with massive 22-inch wheels finished in glossy black, with special center caps reading “Expedition 30 Years”. A special “30 Years” badge on the SUV’s rear ties everything together.
The interior also received exclusive options in the form of a new Salt Crystal Gray seat color which has black contrast accents. More “30 Years” branding can be found in various places such as the door sill and center console.

The Ford Expedition, having sold more than three million units in its 30 years of production, is set to stick around for a while. But with the current fuel crisis, a hybrid option sounds like a good idea.
