A new 4km segment of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) has just opened, and it should cut down travel time between Tarlac and Nueva Ecija significantly. Also known as Contract Package 4, the newly inaugurated section is specifically located within Aliaga and Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija.
With the new link, the drive between Tarlac and Cabanatuan City should take just around 20 minutes. Previously, it took an hour and a half to travel across the two cities.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, as many as 11,500 vehicles are expected to traverse the section daily. And to encourage more motorists to utilize the new stretch, toll fees will be waived until December 2026.

Contract Package 4 is also expected to assist Nueva Ecija’s rice industry, as fuel costs and delivery times should substantially become lower with the more efficient route. It should also help decongest MacArthur Highway, as more motorists traveling to Tarlac and Nueva Ecija are prompted to take CLLEX.

This is the third expressway segment to become operational over the past few weeks. In March 2026, a new segment linking Cavitex and C5 was opened to motorists, while the NAIA Expressway system added a new exit for Terminal 3.
And in the near future, the Skyway system will be linked to the NLEX–SLEX Connector via a new section in Pandacan, Manila. Motorists traveling to the Port Area should also benefit from that development.
