The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will be launched in our market sometime this year, but before that, it made its regional debut at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) last week. Over there, it will start at 1,269,000 Thai baht (around P2.34 million—the introductory price), but if you’re willing to shell out a bit more, Toyota has showcased several different ways you can customize the retro-looking compact SUV.
We’ll start with our favorite among the BIMS 2026 builds: the Legendary Concept. Finished in a paint job that resembles the iconic Sandy Taupe color worn by classic LCs, it also wears the OG badge on the fenders and swaps out the standard rectangular headlights for circular LED units. Its wheels are designed to look like chrome steelies, and the door handles are also in chrome, accented by strips of brightwork along the doors. Overall, this concept elevates the model's retro vibe.

The second is the Street Cruiser Concept. In terms of styling, this is definitely more of a statement piece with an urban aesthetic, rear spoiler, and lowered suspension. Outside, it’s finished in matte gray, with lighter diagonal stripes adding some visual contrast to the rear half of the profile. The back end also has a bike rack installed, with the show unit carrying a Triumph 400 XC.

Then we come to a couple of builds that are better suited to the Land Cruiser FJ’s adventure-oriented character. The Meridian Concept presents a trail-ready ‘authentic off-road’ SUV for “adventure seekers who thrive on challenging terrain.” Where the Street Cruiser is lowered, the Meridian has a noticeably higher ride and is fitted with R/T tires. It also gets a snorkel, a roof rack, a roof-mounted light bar, and underbody protection.

Finally, the Nature Explorer Concept is a ‘mobile basecamp’ for overlanders. Aside from a roof rack, it also features an ARB roof-mounted tent and four auxiliary lights on the grille and the windshield. The white decals on the light-blue paint job match the contrasting white roof.
Aside from these concepts, Toyota Thailand showcased the various Genuine Accessories packages for the Land Cruiser FJ as well—Unbound Explorer, Urban Unique, and Freedom Journey. These are readily available as add-ons to dress up a stock FJ without having to come up with a full concept. But if you were to choose, which of these builds would be your dream peg for a custom Land Cruiser FJ?
