Has it really been almost a year since the hybrid Honda Prelude officially returned? Nine months have already flown past since the electrified coupe launched in September 2025. Now, for the Prelude’s 2027 model year, Honda is giving it a new ‘Limited Edition’ trim.
To be clear, this is an appearance package without any performance upgrades. The Prelude’s hybrid powertrain still makes 200hp and 315Nm of torque, sent to the front wheels. Instead, the Limited Edition trim grants it exclusive color options and accessories.

The main draw here is this deep red finish, which Honda calls ‘Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic.’ It’s quite different from the shades of red we’ve become accustomed to when it comes to Honda models. While the Ignite Red Metallic on the Honda City Hatchback (or even the Rallye Red already available for the Prelude) inspires a sense of sportiness, this wine-red color offers a more mature look.

The exterior package also comes with extra visual accessories to help the Limited Edition Prelude stand out further. This includes red accents on the front grille and rear diffuser fins, with the brake calipers also being painted in the same color. The machined aluminum wheels also feature a different design from the standard Prelude.

Moving on to the interior, the wine-red theme continues with a two-tone black and Bordeaux trim. As with the paint job on the outside, this is another departure from sporty ambitions; trading out the white leather for burgundy completely changes the interior’s atmosphere.
In a sense, the Limited Edition package serves to elevate the Prelude’s character as a classy two-door cruiser. It does away with suggestions of carving corners and setting track times, and instead sets the mood for taking a long drive to unwind.

Information indicates that the Honda Prelude 2027 Limited Edition trim will be exclusive to Japan; it is unknown if other markets will also offer this variant for model year 2027 down the line. It will offically go on sale beginning August 20 this year, priced at ¥6,306,300 or P2.371 million. As a reminder, the Prelude stickers at P3.498 million in the Philippine market.
