Audi is creating a special ‘Performance Edition’ version of its RS5 Sportback. It boasts more power, improved steering and a higher top speed, all of which culminate to make this the fastest (and rarest) RS5 yet.

For starters, the 2.9-litre Biturbo V6 has been given another 20hp to bring the new total to 464hp. As a result, the 0-100kph sprint has been cut down by two tenths to 3.7 seconds, while Audi has also removed the limiter and upped the top speed by 19kph to a new headline figure of 300kph.

Brute force hasn’t been the sole area of focus for the Performance Edition, with Audi throwing on its RS Sport Pro suspension and an improved Torsen limited-slip differential to combat the newfound power with even more grip.

Only 250 units are set to ply their trade in Europe’s outside lanes, making it one of the rarest RS Audi models to be made. Over in Britain, just 10 will be coming to its shores, so it's bound to be one of the rarest Audis made. Tempted? You’ll also need at least £109,000 (around P8,100,000...before taxes) to secure a spot when the order book opens in June.
