Anyone here remember the Chevrolet Spin? Those of a, um, certain age might remember what it was. If not, we’ll help you jog your memory.
The Chevrolet Spin was a subcompact seven-seat MPV introduced in 2012 and landed in the Philippines in mid-2013. It came out during a time when there weren’t a whole lot of options in the segment with its main rivals being the second-generation Toyota Avanza and the first Nissan Livina.

Unfortunately, fate wasn’t on the side of the Spin. While it initially sold well, more rivals cropped up in the following years. It also didn’t help that General Motors pulled the plug on the Spin and its manufacturing facilities in Indonesia in 2015.
However, the Spin lives on in Latin America. In fact, it even received a major update earlier this year. Previewed in Brazil, the new Spin is slated for the 2025 model year.

That said, it isn’t an all-new model. It still uses the same platform that dates back to 2012, but the new face is in line with Chevrolet’s current design language. It looks sharper and sleeker than before, miles different from the version sold here years ago.
Prior to that, the Spin also received major updates on its body. It incorporated new fenders and panels, along with a redesigned rear end for a larger tailgate.

Chevrolet showed just a small bit of the interior, but it looks like it's a major overhaul inside. There's a new dashboard layout incorporating more digital screens. The center stack also appears to have been rearranged, and Chevrolet says the latest generation of its MyLink infotainment system has been fitted to the MPV
As for engines, there’s a good chance it will be carried over from the pre-facelift model. In Brazil, the Spin is powered by a 1.8-liter gas engine that makes 110hp and 164Nm of torque. The lone transmission choice is a six-speed automatic.
