Ford Philippines promised, and it’s now delivered. At the launch of the new Territory Hybrid, the American carmaker has also unveiled the all-new Mustang Mach-E. We knew it was coming, but the timing of the announcement still caught us off guard. But we digress.

The Mustang Mach-E was Ford’s first-ever fully electric vehicle, and it might have been one of the most controversial ones to date. See, it was named after the brand’s famed pony—the same one we took to Bicol a few months back—but it neither had a gas-guzzling V8 (or something similar) under the hood nor was it a high-revving two-door performance car. It was electric, and it was an SUV. And now, it’s officially part of the Ford Philippines lineup as its first full EV.

And it’s quite an EV, this thing. It packs an 88kWh battery that powers the two electric motors, which then put out a total of 389hp and 676Nm of torque that are sent to all four wheels. This fully electric powertrain is capable of doing 0-100kph in under 5sec. It also comes with an impressive 550km of range with one full charge, and it supports up to 150kW DC charging, which gets the battery from zero to 80% in 36-45min.

The Mustang Mach-E also comes equipped with a panoramic glass roof, active grille shutters up front, and an E-Latch door system. It sits on 19-inch aluminum wheels with a Brembo braking system. It also gets an 81-liter frunk paired with a 402-liter trunk.

Inside, premium materials adorn the black-laden cabin, with red stitching accentuating the Active X interior trim. Amenities include quad-zone climate control, wireless chargers, ambient lighting, and USB charging ports up front and at the back.

Unsurprisngly, the Mustang Mach-E comes with Ford’s latest advanced driver-assist systems courtesy of the Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite. There’s adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, reverse-brake assist, and a 360-degree-view camera, among others.

FordPass also comes as standard, and it offers customers various EV-exclusive features. For example, through the dedicated smartphone app, Mach-E owners can check the charging status and the details of the current charging session, and they can also remotely start or stop charging.

The all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E will only be available for purchase from seven select dealerships, all of which will have charging stations available at their respective facilities. Each unit also comes with a free home charger that can be installed by the customers themselves or a preferred partner.

Now, for the big question: How much is it? The all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium is now available in the Philippines for P3.499 million. This lone variant comes in five colors, namely: Glacier Gray, Velocity Blue, Star White, Shadow Black, and Grabber Yellow

For those wondering if we’re going on another long road trip with this electrified Mustang SUV, rest assured, we’ll do so once we get our hands on it, but we probably won’t be going back to Bicol for this one. The sheer lack of EV charging infrastructure there wouldn’t allow for such a drive. Anyway, what do you guys think of the all-new Ford Mustang Mach-E? Sound off in the comments.
