There’s no doubting the capabilities of the Ford Ranger Raptor. Whether it’s the four-cylinder bi-turbo diesel or the mighty twin-turbo V6, this pickup is essentially a rally car with license plates.
At the same time, the Raptor has become a great blank canvas for the aftermarket community. How often do you see a lifted and/or accessorized model on the road? Our point, precisely.
Of course, Ford is well aware of this. It’s one of the reasons why it has a technical partnership with ARB. ARB is one of the world’s biggest aftermarket companies for off-roaders, so it’s a huge deal.

That also means Ford is making the most of the ARB deal. Aside from offering genuine accessories, there’s also a new and special limited edition model for the Ranger Raptor to give it more attitude.

Enter, the Ford Ranger Raptor Desert Pack edition. It’s aimed at those who’d want more from their pickup, or for those who think the standard model doesn’t look beefy enough. Yes, those people exist.

So, what ARB goodies does it get? For starters, there’s the unique ARB steel sports bar. It’s a chunky (and presumably, heavy) piece of kit that’s inspired by the Ranger Raptor’s exploits in rallying. And speaking of rally-inspired accessories, there’s also the roof-mounted Nacho Quatro Lamps. It’s attached close to the windshield and serves as driving lights in dark trails.
Other additions? There’s the Desert Pack decal set to make it look more like a baby F-150 Raptor. Lastly, there’s the Ford Performance all-weather floor mats. It doesn’t sound like a big deal, but having taken the Ranger Raptor off-road several times already, it’s something we’d actually like in the local models.

For now, at least, this model is exclusive to the Australian market with just 500 units to be made. That said, one can make their own Desert Pack Ranger Raptor as ARB will soon make these accessories will be made available through their official sales channels.
Good news for those who want a beefier Ranger Raptor, then. Just promise us that you won’t use those Nacho Quatro Lamps when you’re driving around the city.
