We had a lot of fun blasting through lahar beds in the Ford Ranger Raptor V6 twin-turbo. With nearly 400hp on tap, active suspension, and a great soundtrack in the background, it’s one heck of an off-road toy.
But there are those who still think that this high-performance pickup needs a good dose of extra power. Enter Killa Conversions & Performance, a special shop in Australia that just made a pretty wild engine swap on the Ranger Raptor.

In this case, the shop chucked out 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 for a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. Yes, that’s the Mustang engine, and Killa Conversions & Performance call it the Raptr8 S.

But hold on, the Mustang engine isn’t supercharged, right? That’s true, which is why it’s boosted by Roush Performance to give it a whole lot of muscle. The result is a whopping 750hp ready to light up the road…or trail. For reference, the boosted V6 we have here makes 392hp, 358hp less than the Raptr8 S. Insane.

There are no official acceleration numbers for it, but the standard version can do the 0-100kph sprint in six seconds or less – on all-terrain tires nonetheless. With an extra 350hp+ under the hood, we might be looking at sub 5-second runs to 100kph. It might even be quicker than the F-150 Raptor R given that the Ranger is smaller.
The rest of the pickup appears to be carried over from stock, though. It’s not a totally bad thing as the Ford Ranger Raptor is already an impressive piece of kit. The active Fox dampers and trick suspension is still there, and so are the drive modes. That said, there is an option to upgrade the brakes. Given our experience with the 392hp V6 model, this 750hp beast will need it.

But for those that find the Raptr8 S overwhelming, there’s the ‘normal’ Raptr8 that still has the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8. There’s no supercharger, though, but it still packs quite a punch with 480hp on tap.
