It’s been months since the Ford Ranger Super Duty made its world premiere. It’s slated for the 2026 model year, and it’s coming soon to showrooms in select markets.

At the time of its reveal, Ford didn’t reveal any numbers just yet. Of course, we were expecting huge numbers once it’s out. But now that the company has finally laid out key specs, we can safely say that the company wasn’t messing around when it comes the Super Duty tag.

Granted, full specs aren’t out yet, but the figures that potential owners must know are here. That would be payload capacities, powertrain, and a few of its dimensions.

There are three payload levels available for the Ranger Super Duty. It kicks off with the dual-cab that can already carry a staggering 1,825kg. The Super Cab (extended cab) model kicks that up to 1,896kg. But if it’s heavy duty hauling that the customer requires, the single cab can carry up to 1,982kg. For reference, a Wildtrak can handle around 1,100kg, while the Raptor can only do 750kg.

Because of its beefed up suspension, the heavy-duty Ranger gets even more ground clearance and a deeper wading depth capacity. Depending on the body style chosen, clearance ranges from 295mm to 299mm. That means these pickups can ford water up to 850mm deep.

Regardless of body style or configuration, under the hood of these trucks is a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel dubbed the Powerstroke. It’s the same block found in the Ranger and Everest V6 models sold in select markets, but it’s been tuned to handle greater demands from its end users.

Horsepower is actually lower than in the regular V6, dropping from 236hp to ‘just’ 207hp. The likely reason for that is keep the engine relatively under stressed by not making the most of its capacity. While there’s fewer horses, torque is still at 600Nm with all of it unleashed at just 1,750rpm. The latter is more important when it comes to towing and carrying heavy loads.

By the looks of it, Australia will be the first market to get the Ford Ranger Super Duty. However, it’s expected to be offered in more markets down the line. There might even be a chance of it coming to the Philippines as this model, like most Rangers, is built in Thailand.
