As it is, the Ford Ranger is a pretty capable truck. It’s got one of the biggest beds in the business as well as one of the highest payload capacities. It also helps that there’s a wide variety of variants available.
But Ford wants to expand the Ranger family even further. A few months ago, the American automaker confirmed the arrival of the Super Duty model. Now, the launch date has been locked in.

Ladies and gentlemen, set your alarms for April 4, 2025, to see the first photos and specs of this new variant. It’ll first be revealed in Australia and likely be sold in select markets where the larger Super Duty models aren’t viable.

It’s an interesting strategy from Ford, giving the Ranger a Super Duty variant. So far, none of its competitors have dedicated heavy-duty versions save for Toyota with the Tamaraw, the Hilux Champ, and the Hilux Rangga.
That said, the Ford Ranger Super Duty will be a beefed-up version of the popular pickup. The company has mentioned a strengthened chassis, a unique suspension arrangement, and even eight-lug wheels and hubs for this model. We could also expect a variety of body styles, similar to the F-Series Super Duty pickups for North American markets.

Powertrain options are unknown at the moment, but this Ranger will likely skip the four-cylinder units. Instead, we think it will come equipped with the stronger 3.0-liter Powerstroke V6 turbodiesel seen in most markets. It’s good for 250hp and, more important, 600Nm—exactly what the truck needs for hauling duties. It’s also possible that this engine might get a more powerful tune given its intended purpose.
More information will be revealed soon. For now, we wait and wonder if this version will be sold in the Philippines.
