Ford Philippines has added another Ranger variant to its already stacked lineup. This new release marks the 11th Ranger variant available on the Philippine market, and it is none other than the Ford Ranger XL+.

The new Ranger XL+ offers a couple of functional upgrades over the existing Ranger XL (pictured below), for a relatively small price bump.

The five-foot bed gets a new rugged liner, which should fortify the open space against the elements and overall wear and tear. There are also side steps to help get occupants in and out of the pickup more easily. These are welcome additions for those who plan to drive to campsites or through shallow bodies of water.

In the cabin, there are additional cupholders on the side of both the driver and the front passenger side. A similar upgrade is found on the Ford Ranger Sport Special Edition (pictured below), which was also released this month.

And that’s about it. The powertrain from the Ranger XL has been carried over, so this new XL+ variant utilizes the same 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

As mentioned, these subtle updates also bring about a small price bump. The Ford Ranger XL+ stickers for P1.279 million, or just a P10,000 increase over the Ranger XL.

Would you spend an extra P10,000 for that new bed liner?
