After launching a trio of MPV models in the GN6, E8 HEV, and GN8 PHEV, GAC could be planning another set of car launches in the not-too-distant future. This time, based on Land Transportation Office homologation papers, we might be seeing the Aion Y Plus compact crossover and the GS4 Max HEV compact SUV.
If you’re a fan of the brand’s Aion UT, we have a feeling you’ll like the Aion Y Plus. This was initially launched in the market back in 2024, but now it’s getting a reintroduction. The compact crossover has similar styling and silhouette to the compact hatchback. It is, however, a bigger car, measuring 4,535mm long, 1,870mm wide, and 1,650mm tall, with a 2,750mm wheelbase. As expected, it also sits higher than the UT, with a minimum ground clearance of 150mm.
The compact crossover has a fully electric powertrain comprised of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and a 63.2kWh battery. The system delivers 202hp and 225Nm of torque, while achieving 490km of driving range.

Aside from multiple exterior paint options, the Aion Y Plus also has a lot of interior color schemes to choose from, including Wonderland Forest, Pink Coast, Blue Ocean, Elegant Lavender, and Fairyland.
Meanwhile, the GS4 Max HEV is one of the brand’s two main compact SUVs, along with the Emkoo. The GS4 Max measures 4,685mm long, 1,901mm wide, and 1,690mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The front fascia reminds us a bit of the Infiniti QX60 with the angry-looking headlights and large grille. Overall, styling looks executive, especially with those 20-inch two-tone polished wheels.
As you can tell from the name, the GS4 Max HEV has a hybrid powertrain. It features a 2.0-liter Atkinson hybrid system that produces 138hp and 180Nm of torque from the gasoline engine and 180hp and 300Nm of torque from the electric motor. Combined fuel economy is listed at 21.4km/L. With a 50-liter fuel tank, we can probably estimate a driving range of around 1,000km while comfortably giving you enough distance to find a gas station.
