Toyota Motor Philippines is celebrating its 38th anniversary in our market. As it marks another year in the country, it now has its sights set on its next big milestone: Three million cumulative vehicle sales in the Philippines.
As part of its celebrations, Toyota president Masando Hashimoto led the planting of a symbolic 500,000th tree inside the Toyota Special Economic Zone in Santa Rosa, Laguna. This Molave tree is part of Toyota’s goal to nurture a million trees by 2030, and also marks the halfway line for the All Toyota Green Wave Project, an initiative that supports reforestation in the Philippines.

Hashimoto also announced Toyota’s imminent three-millionth sales milestone, something the carmaker will achieve if market conditions continue to improve. Worth noting that Toyota took 27 years to achieve its first million and merely another seven to get to the second. Now, it has only been a little over four years to reach the third million.

Looking back, the years beyond the pandemic have been massive for the Japanese giant. It expanded its lineup with hybrid and electrified vehicles, introduced exciting new models under Gazoo Racing, and most important, began manufacturing the revived Tamaraw in the country—all of these in the past few years alone.
Currently, Toyota produces the Vios, Innova, and Tamaraw locally. In 2025, the company set a record production volume of 63,803. In the same year, Toyota also nabbed its 24th consecutive Triple Crown—an award achieved by leading the industry in passenger car sales, commercial vehicle sales, and overall vehicle sales. Globally, our market remains the third-largest for Toyota in Southeast Asia and 10th-largest worldwide.

“As envisioned by our Founding Chairman, Dr. George S.K. Ty, TMP’s core reason for being has always been nationbuilding,” said TMP chairman Alfred Ty. “So, the vehicles we build—like our very own Tamaraw—are not just products; they are engines of mobility that empower small businesses, support families, and elevate everyday lives across our country.
“In turn, it enables TMP to provide stable, meaningful jobs, foster personal growth, and uplift thousands of Filipino households throughout the Toyota ecosystem,” Ty added. “This is our purpose—to keep people at the center of everything we do.”
Happy anniversary, TMP!
