When Ford said that the coolest Rangers in town would be on display at this year’s Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, it wasn’t kidding—take a look at the photo above. That, my friends, is the ‘Attainable Adventure’ Ford Ranger custom truck from Hellwig Products.
You might have recognized the pickup from our previous story—this is one of over 50 vehicles on display at the Ford booth in SEMA. This custom mod used the 2019 Ford Ranger XLT as a platform.
The Attainable Adventure Ranger was built by Old Street Fabrication in Leona Valley, California. It features a T-Rex X-Metal Grille and a Rigid Industries light bar up front for an aggressive stance, while the front and rear bumpers are courtesy of Addictive Desert Designs. The retro-style paint job was finished by the guys from LGE-CTS Motorsports. These are the same people who created another adventure-ready Ford truck which you may have read from our previous story: The ‘Baja Forged’ F-250 Super Duty.
Like the Baja Forged, this custom Ranger is also ready to tackle the great outdoors, with 35-inch Falken Wildpeak M/T tires and 17-inch ICON Alloys Compression wheels all around. These are complemented by a set of Bushwacker fender flares for adequate tire coverage. In addition, a Stage 5 suspension system by Icon Vehicle Dynamics is equipped underneath.
The Attainable Adventure Ranger lives up to its name. Its wide arsenal of amenities includes a bed rack and awning by Yakima, a Tepui Hybox rooftop tent, and a RIGID hitch swing to mount specialized electric mountain bikes. A GoalZero Yeti 1400 portable power station and solar panels are also available to power the electric mountain bikes and other auxiliary electronics. The whole kit and caboodle is completed by Trail Kitchen culinary equipment and an ARB fridge mounted on a nifty BedSlide for easy access.
Would you go camping with this truck?
