A few months ago, Honda published a photo of the facelifted Civic. It was Honda North America that showed it, along with a few small details. Fast forward to May 2024, and the full reveal is here.

For the 2025 model year, the Honda Civic gets tweaks inside and out, along with a couple of tech upgrades. Both the hatchback and sedan versions benefit from these changes. Given that it’s already shown abroad, the current version of the popular compact’s days are numbered.

So, what’s new for the Civic? Both the sedan and hatchback get a redesigned front bumper. It’s longer than before and there are slimmer corner air intakes. The center air intake has been made wider, while the grille draws some elements from its big brother, the Accord. New wheel designs are also part of the 2025 update.

For now, it’s just the Touring variant that has been revealed. Its closest equivalent to the Southeast Asian market would be the RS. With that in mind, we can expect some, if not most, of all the details changes to appear in our region. As for other exterior updates, the headlights get new trim pieces while the tail lights are a shade darker than before. New colors have also been added, namely Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Blue Lagoon Pearl, and Sand Dune Pearl.

The interior is largely carried over. However, it does get a larger nine-inch infotainment screen, at least for higher trim levels. A 12-speaker audio system is also available for select variants. The North American version is available with a variety of interior color combinations, although we doubt that we’d have that option in the ASEAN market.

For the US market, the 1.5-liter turbo has been discontinued, although we reckon that it will still be around for other regions. That engine has been replaced with a 2.0-liter hybrid system that is shared with the CR-V. In the case of the Civic, it’s slightly detuned with 200hp and 315Nm of torque.

Curiously, Honda North America kept the 2.0-liter non-turbo engine for the lower variants. For those who are curious, it’s still the tried and tested K20 block that makes 158hp and 187Nm of torque.
