Remember the Honda Element? We wouldn’t blame you if you don’t. After all, this odd-looking crossover never debuted in the Philippines, and it was completely discontinued almost 15 years ago.
Still, it remains one of Honda’s more interesting products, thanks to its peculiar shape and target audience. You see, the Element was built for younger car buyers who love dogs and the great outdoors. With a four-wheel drive and a three-door look (as it technically has five doors), it had the vibe of the first-generation Toyota RAV4.

It was built in the United States and was primarily sold in North American markets. While it was relatively popular when it first came out in 2003, sales progressively declined, and it was discontinued in 2011. However, a report from Automotive News recently revealed that Honda may revive the Element in 2029.

The report further explained that the quirky crossover could return with similar looks and a new hybrid powertrain. Notably, we should hear more about that updated engine soon, as Honda is set to release its next-generation hybrid vehicles in 2027.

After that, 15 more electrified models will be launched throughout 2030, and it looks like the Element is going to be part of that new stable. Production is also expected to stay in the US, with about 100,000 units expected to be assembled in its first year. While other global markets will probably not see the revived Element, an international release isn’t entirely impossible. Remember, Honda started importing the US-built Passport SUV to Japan earlier this year.
Never say never, we say. While we wait for official updates, let us know if you’d like to see the Element on Philippine roads. Given its utilitarian form factor, the Element could resonate with MPV shoppers looking for something different.
