Honda’s participation at the 2024 Bangkok Auto Salon hasn’t gone unnoticed. In this year’s running of the show, the company unveiled a slew of sportier variants of its bread and butter models.
But among all of those on display, there were two that caught our attention. These are the Mugen versions of the Honda HR-V and Honda Accord.

Starting with the Accord, the Mugen kit blends a sporty and executive look to the midsize sedan. Multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels adorn the car, along with other Mugen-exclusive parts. There’s the ground-hugging body kit that consists of a front spoiler, side skirts, and rear bumper appliqué, along with dual exhaust pipes.
Then there’s the matte silver grey finish on the car’s body, capped off by a matte black roof. It’s not all cosmetics, though, as the model on display also has a Mugen spring and damper set that lower the car. The whole car isn’t for sale, but the parts attached to it will be available to consumers. Thai customers, that is.

Moving to the HR-V, it gets a more aggressive makeover. The kit itself is similar to the once found in the Japanese market Vezel. However, the Thai version is body-colored instead of having contrasting colors. But either way, the front chin makes it sit lower to the ground, along with its side skirts and rear bumper kit. If that’s not enough, there’s a tall tailgate wing to grab more attention
The Thai version of the Mugen HR-V features a bit of a throwback too. To Honda fans out there, the wheel design might look familiar. That’s because it’s wearing the signature Mugen MF10 wheel, a look that has been around for decades now. Who knew that it’ll actually look good on a subcompact crossover?

As for the other models on display, there’s a racing version of the City Hatchback sitting on the stand. There’s also a City Hatchback e:HEV with Modulo kits, along with a Civic Type R.
