Kei cars and vans might not be available here (at least officially), but we just can’t get enough of them. Given your comments and reactions to our stories about them, you love ‘em too.
In some ways, these kei vehicles are proof that bigger isn’t always better. Despite their small footprint, these mini cars and vans make the most out of their diminutive dimensions. It’s perfect for crowded metropolitan streets and tight provincial roads.

So, news from Japan, there’s a new kei van on the block. It’s the Honda N-Van, and it’s been given a significant update. It’s just in time for the N series’ tenth anniversary, too.
You won’t find any huge updates on the outside, though. It still looks much like the same model that came out in 2018. However, there is a new variant that has been added. Dubbed the STYLE+NATURE version, it gives the kei van unique styling details inside and out. More on that later.
As for other improvements, lower model grades now come with heated door mirrors. Two new colors have also been added to the FUN trim level, namely Autumn Yellow Pearl and Botanical Green Pearl. The Honda Sensing advanced driver assist system is standard on the N-Van, but it’s been upgraded to include something that’s called a ‘sudden acceleration suppression function.’
So, more on the STYLE+NATURE package, then. The Honda N-Van gets a slightly more rugged look with the addition of a matte black grille and two-tone 12-inch steel rims. With the idea of function over form, its side mirrors, door handles, and tailgate garnish are also finished in black. Exterior options include decals for the lower half of the tiny van, along with a full-length roof carrier.
For those who love khaki, they’ll love what Honda did to the STYLE+NATURE’s interior. The seats are trimmed in a jersey-like fabric, along with bits of the door panel. There’s more khaki on the steering wheel trims, as well as on the dash fascia and air-con surrounds. It’s worth pointing out that all seats can fold flat, creating a bed-like space.
Like before, the N-Van is available with two engine options, both with a capacity of 660cc. The first is a naturally aspirated version of the block that makes 52hp and 64Nm, while the second is a turbocharged mill with 63hp and 104Nm of torque. That engine can be paired to a CVT or a six-speed manual, as well as all-wheel drive.
