After debuting in Indonesia and Thailand during the first quarter of the year, the facelifted Hyundai Creta will finally land in our market this month—and yes, the N Line version will make it to our shores.

This updated version of the subcompact crossover was first launched in India early in 2024. The changes brought its appearance closer to the Palisade, with rectangular elements making up a burlier-looking front end. Quad-beam headlamps modernize the fascia, and matching skidplates adorn both ends of the vehicle. The N Line version has a different front treatment with a slimmer grille, and also gets dual exhausts, a two-tone color scheme, and 18-inch rims versus 17-inchers on the lower variants.

If you’re expecting this spec to get turbo power, it might be better to contain your excitement for now. The Creta N Line launched in Thailand only comes with the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that puts out 113hp and 144Nm of torque, mated to Hyundai’s excellent Intelligent Variable Transmission, the company’s proprietary CVT. The 1.5-liter Smartstream turbopetrol engine, on the other hand, generates 158hp and 253Nm via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The Thai-spec N Line’s interior features predominantly black upholstery and surfaces with red accents. It follows the trend of integrating the digital instrument panel and the central infotainment display so they look like a single unit—something we’ve been seeing in the brand’s other offerings. A chunky central stack houses physical buttons for multimedia and climate controls. There’s more red trim on the steering wheel and the gearshift to remind you that you’re in the racier (or at least racier-looking) version.

The arrival of the updated Creta follows last month’s launch of an expanded Elantra lineup that includes nat-asp, turbo, and hybrid powertrain options. And as we reported last week, the all-new Accent might be joining the Korean carmaker’s Philippine lineup soon. Exciting times ahead if you’re a fan of the Hyundai brand.
