Shortly after ACMobility launched the facelifted Kia Carnival in the Philippines, it has now brought in—albeit very quietly—the MPV’s hybrid variant. This announcement also comes merely a day after Ayala’s automotive arm launched the all-new BYD Seal 5 DM-i.
At first glance, you would think this is the same diesel-powered Carnival that arrived back in September. It does share the exact same looks, but of course, the differences lie under the hood. In the Carnival Turbo HEV, you’ll find a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline hybrid system that churns out a total of 242hp and 367Nm of torque. This sends power to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, you get the same luxurious cabin as the non-hybrid Carnivals. Leather bits, soft-touch trim, and a plethora of premium materials adorn the interior, with two large screens housed in the same gloss-black panel up front.
In the second row are the captain seats with butterfly headrests, Ottomans, armrests, and power-adjustment functions. Charging ports and 12V sockets come aplenty, while a pair of sunroofs are available up top.
Safety and driver-assist tech are also in abundance courtesy of Kia’s DriveWise suite, which includes a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, forward collision-avoidance assist, and a 360-degree-view camera. The Carnival Turbo HEV also comes equipped with eight airbags as standard.

As for the pricing, the Carnival Turbo HEV stickers for P3.488 million, P120,000 more expensive than the originally range-topping SX. This will be available at all Kia dealerships nationwide starting December 1, 2024. You can check out the Carnival’s full price list below.
