Well, if it ain’t broke and all that. With that, a series of updates to its all-conquering and quietly excellent Land Rover Defender, chief among which are a new set of head and tail lights.
The front ones apparently feature new “signature detailing” and fog lights as standard, while the rears are flush with smoked lenses.

Elsewhere there are “optimized” surfaces for the bumpers, a textured pattern for the bonnet inserts and side vents, and – be still thine beating hearts! – gloss black Defender-branded wheel caps.

There’s a new wheel option: a 22in seven-spoke item. New colours are also available. Inside, there’s a slightly larger 13.1in touchscreen, a redesigned center console, and – for the first time – the option of adaptive off-road cruise control.

This, frankly, does sound quietly excellent: an evolution of ‘All Terrain Progress Control’, it allows you to set your comfort levels over ‘rough’ terrain, and then let the Defender automatically have at it. You just focus on steering the thing.
Want to really steer? You’ll want the 630hp V8 OCTA, which now gets… that’s right, more colours. Still, like we said, if it ain’t broke and all that. And it really isn’t, because Land Rover’s flat out building the things.

“With production at full capacity to meet demand, the latest changes are part of our continuous commitment to make adventures even more satisfying,” said Defender boss Mark Cameron. “Fresh design enhancements, new colors and an expanded range of accessories follow Defender’s comprehensive upgrade last year, ensuring our iconic 4x4 is better than ever.”
