The fully electric Lexus RZ has received a comprehensive update, with notable power improvements and battery upgrades. This reintroduction also includes a showcase of the RZ 600e F Sport, which sadly will not go on sale.

Instead, the crowning RZ variant will merely serve as a halo for the lineup, with the more sensible RZ 350e and RZ 500e made available to local car buyers. It must be noted that the RZ 350e is a repositioning of the RZ 300e, while the RZ 500e is a modernized version of the RZ 450e.

The most significant aspect of this update is arguably the battery upgrade. Replacing the previous 71.4kWh pack is a chunkier 74.7kWh battery, which should improve range and overall performance.

The refreshed RZ also features an enhanced 22kW AC charging architecture, doubling the capability of the old 11kW system. At the same time, CCS2 compatibility for DC chargers remains standard.

In terms of performance, the RZ 500e boasts a longer 460km driving range and a punchier 375hp. According to Lexus, this is a great improvement over its predecessor, which only had 309hp on tap.

The new RZs arrive as the latest updates to the local Lexus lineup. Just this year, the Japanese carmaker released the new IS and ES sedans, while the RZ launched with the reenergized UX crossover. It looks to be a very busy year for Lexus.
