When Mazda first announced that it will be unveiling its first electric vehicle at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show, it showed us nothing of what the car would look like. Luckily for us who’ve been anticipating this EV, the Japanese carmaker’s latest video teasers give us a better idea of what it will be unveiling in a matter of days.

The first one doesn’t reveal much of the exterior, but it does show that the interior of the new EV will be made out of sustainable materials. The video also features a quick look at what looks like an electronic gearshifter with a couple of knobs in front of what appears to be a huge digital display. If you know what the cockpit of a Tesla looks like, then that’s what we mean here. Check out the video below and see for yourself:

The second video released provides only a slight glimpse of the EV’s exterior from different angles. We tried putting the puzzle pieces together, and the image of the vehicle that we’re getting here resembles a two-door coupe or crossover, but that’s just a hard guess. Take a look at the actual video and tell us if you agree:

Mazda says the interior was built to give drivers and passengers an experience of being ‘enveloped in openness.’ It also aims to provide a sense of connection with the vehicle, similar to Mazda’s other designs created with the jinba ittai adage in mind. Meanwhile, the exterior features the carmaker’s new Kodo design phase that we’re seeing on new models like the 3 and the 6.

The press release reads: “Styling our new EV was a process of staying grounded in the beautifully honed, handcrafted forms of previous Mazda designs while exploring new directions more in touch with futuristic values and changing lifestyles.”

Are you excited for this EV’s big reveal? We’ll provide you with all the updates once Mazda pulls the wraps off of this new vehicle, so watch this space.
