The final quarter of 2025 has been off to quite a start. After a series of launches this month, MG Philippines is closing off October with the introduction of another new model.
It’s not just any model, mind you—it’s the TRQ L, the brand’s first pickup in the Philippines. It’s based on the Maxus T60, a truck that was also sold here a few years back.

The new MG TRQ L features a very bold-looking design, with a massive grille and sizeable headlamps that match the beefy, chiseled look of the front fascia quite nicely. In the higher trim, black plastic claddings add bulk to the fenders, and they complement the look with the stepboards underneath and the sport bar on the bed and roof rails up top. The rear has been kept simple, although the bumpers do look very macho.

Powering the new MG TRQ L is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel that puts out 158hp and 400Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. The vehicle gets a hydraulic power-steering system, a double-wishbone suspension up front with leaf springs at the back, and disc brakes all around. The truck has 215mm of ground clearance and a maximum payload capacity of 1,055kg.

Inside, it gets leather seats as standard. A 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also available, along with a six-way power-adjustable seat for the driver. Surprisingly, the steering wheel only has tilt adjustment, no telescopic.
The all-new MG TRQ L starts at P1,248,888 for the manual variant and tops out at P1,338,888 for the automatic. MG Philippines is also offering a P20,000 discount on the AT and P50,000 discount on the MT to the first 200 customers, who will also receive a tailgate step worth P12,500 and a tailgate assist worth P8,500 for free with their purchase.
It’s available in five colors, namely: Warm White, Astral Silver, Metal Black, Metal Ash Gray, and the AT variant-exclusive Scarlet Red. A dressed-up version of the pickup built by Overland Kings was also showcased during the launch—check it out below.
