The Mitsubishi Outlander has finally returned to the Philippines, once again leading the brand’s charge to electrification. For the uninitiated, the plug-in hybrid Outlander initially launched in 2020, when it was arguably way ahead of its time.

Since then, the local automotive landscape has drastically shifted, and electrified crossovers are all the rage. Now seemingly in the right place at the right time, the Outlander PHEV reintroduces itself at an introductory price of P2,749,000. That will be available until September 30, 2026, after which, the crossover’s regular price of P2,848,000 will take effect.

What does that price entail? For starters, a familiar plug-in hybrid system is on deck, built around a 2.4-liter MIVEC engine and dual electric motors. Those components have a combined output of 302hp and 450Nm of torque, with total driving range close to 1,000km. Notably, it can drive up to 100km on just electric power.

The crossover also wears an updated look; however, this Outlander generation actually debuted internationally in 2022. Still, it’s a newer style versus the last Outlander we saw on the local market. Its most prominent features include a two-segment grille with revised headlights.

It has also been updated with the Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing suite of advanced driving aids, while features like Super All-Wheel Control and Active Yaw Control remain standard. Drivers have seven drive modes to choose from, including Tarmac, Power, Gravel, and Eco.

Inside, drivers and passengers are treated to a 12.3-inch main display with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with audio channeled through an eight-speaker setup from Yamaha. The cabin has also been outfitted with a panoramic sunroof and a triple-zone climate control system.
