There are a few models that we’ve been patiently waiting for here in our market—one of those is the all-new Mitsubishi Triton. We’ve seen it up close, we’ve actually driven it, and we’ve also confirmed that some units are already here in the Philippines.
Now, the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) has released the latest test results of the all-new Triton, and it’s gotten us even more stoked for the upcoming launch. The truck just scored a perfect five out of five stars for safety—an improvement from years past—isn’t that something to be excited about?

The Triton got a total of 74.71 points.32.52 points for adult occupant protection, 17.54 points for child occupant protection, 14.44 points for safety assist, and 10.22 points for motorcyclist safety assessment.
The pickup was able to achieve these scores thanks in part to standard safety tech such as ABS and electronic stability control, as well as advanced features like forward-collision warning, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot detection.
Really, all that’s left now is for Mitsubishi Motors Philippnes to finally launch this pickup. We promise to try and be patient about it.
