When we revealed the launch of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak (including its specs and prices) last year, many of you begged Ford Philippines to bring in the 3.2L with manual transmission. It looks like the American carmaker heeded its customers' request. Today, the company announces three new Wildtrak variants, including the 3.2L 4x4 MT.
To be available in June at all Ford dealerships, the new Wildtrak variants are the following:
* 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 MT - P1,219,000
* 2.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 AT - P1,289,000
* 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 MT - P1,490,000
The 4x2 variants come with the Duratorq TDCi 2.2L engine with both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Peak torque is 375Nm and power output is 148hp. These variants sport 18-inch alloy wheels and the sport package with roof rail, sport bar, box rail, bedliner and special Wildtrak leather seats, steering wheel and door trim.
The new variants include additional safety technologies, including side and curtain airbags, which used to be exclusive to the 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak AT. Other safety features are the three-point seat belts in all positions, driver and passenger beltminder, seatbelt pretensioners, and Isofix child-seat anchorage points.
The 3.2L Ranger Wildtrak MT, on the other hand, is powered by the Duratorq TDCi 3.2L engine. Equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, it has 470Nm of torque and 197hp of power. This variant also has a rear-view camera, cooled center console, premium eight-way power adjustable seats, and a 12V socket on the bedliner.
These new variants are available in Chili Orange, Cool White and Black Mica body colors.
"The Ranger continues to be one of our top-selling nameplates, and we are very excited to offer customers even more options to meet their needs," said Ford Philippines managing director Kay Hart.
