Behold the Jeep Gladiator 6x6. It’s the work of Next Level, a third-party company, but it’ll be sold at authorized Jeep dealers, starting in California.
If that’s not enough of an endorsement, then the people behind Next Level are also behind the Rezvani Tank (and the Rezvani Hercules 6x6), so they have a stocky CV in oversized playthings.
The Gladiator’s big sell is its extra axle and new eight-foot bed. It has permanent four-wheel drive and on-demand six-wheel drive, with Fox suspension throughout. The wheels are 20-inch rims with 37-inch off-road tires, and you have a choice of three engines: 270hp four-cylinder turbo, 285hp V6 gasoline, and a 375hp V6 diesel. The latter sounds most appealing given the extra mass you’re hauling around.
Prices are...well, almost as large as the car itself. The Gladiator 6x6 starts at $132,000 (P6.39 million), which is almost $100,000 (P4.84 million) more than an entry-level Gladiator 4x4. Tempted?
