But that doesn’t mean the automakers are resting on their laurels. Recently, the Nissan Almera has received a new variant. It’s called the VL Sport, and it’s the new top of the line model.

Hold on, wasn’t there a Sport model sold in its pre-facelift version? Technically, yes, but that was called the N-Sport. Like the previous model, it adds a body kit to the subcompact sedan and other sportier elements. But the new variant isn’t the only thing that’s new with the Almera.
But first, the kit. It gives the Nissan Almera a unique set of foglight housings and a deeper front apron. Chrome bits have been replaced with gloss black highlights and gains a Sport badge beside the headlight. Other additions include side skirts, a rear bumper appliqué, and a trunk spoiler. There are no changes to the engine and suspension.

There are a couple of interior upgrades to go along with it. Its dashboard fascia is trimmed in black leather with dark orange stitching, while the door trims get gray leather trims. The seats also come with Sport embroidery to differentiate it from the standard VL model.
Another major highlight is in connectivity. From now on, all CVT-equipped models come standard with Nissan Connected Services or NCS. NCS also gains a few more features, namely walk-away locking and unlocking.
