The all-new Nissan Navara has been unveiled, and it will be heading to Australia and New Zealand in the first quarter of next year. There is still no official word on a Philippine debut, but considering the components that make up the new Navara, there is a strong possibility.

And what exactly are those components? Well, Nissan has opted to modify the existing Mitsubishi Triton and rebadge it as the 2026 Navara. That means the Triton’s 2.4-liter bi-turbo diesel powertrain is at the heart of Nissan’s latest pickup, making around 201hp and 470Nm of torque. It’s then mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and Nissan has not confirmed if a manual variant will be offered.

What’s new is the improved suspension on the 4x4 system, which has been configured by Premcar—an independent tuning house based in Victoria, Australia. More specifically, Premcar developed special dampers for the Navara, which should improve the truck’s adaptability to various road conditions. It looks like the Triton’s front independent wishbone and rear leaf spring suspension setups are still in place, and so it’ll be interesting to see how those new dampers perform in everyday driving conditions.

While Mitsubishi and Premcar took care of the engineering, Nissan went to town on the aesthetics. The Japanese carmaker applied its signature V-Motion grille—ensuring that this rebadged pickup is unmistakably a Navara. The C-shaped headlights are mounted in the grille’s overall frame, adding a modern touch to a heritage-based look.

The orange accents around the exterior are continued throughout the Navara’s cabin, complemented by black upholstery and Pro-4X branding. A new nine-inch infotainment display ties the interior together, and all variants come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. More advanced driver-assistance systems will also be available on the new Navara, such as intelligent cruise control and lane-departure warnings.

Are you hoping to see the all-new Navara in the Philippines? The sound of an Australian-tuned, Japanese pickup is definitely intriguing.
