The current generation Nissan Navara just hit the decade mark this year. Making its global debut in 2014, it has been a solid seller for the brand since. But with a raft of all-new competition coming its way, the Navara has a huge task ahead of it.
Still, that isn’t stopping Nissan from giving it a few more updates before the all-new model arrives. As reported by Australian automotive media Drive, the pickup will undergo a few more changes before it bows out.

Nissan Australia managing director Adam Paterson spoke to the publication during a recent event. There, he mentioned ‘[product] activity within the next few months’ for the Navara.
“We're always looking at the opportunity to bring new packages and new content to the truck. And while I'm not going to talk about anything specific today, you'll see some activity in the next few months,” said the executive.

The updates are expected to be relatively minor given the current model’s age. At the same time, the all-new model is expected to be revealed in a year or two. With that, we could see a few more tech updates, the addition of extra advanced driver assist systems, and some trim changes inside and out. Run-out models for various markets are also a strong possibility.
As for the next-generation model, it will likely share major components with the all-new Mitsubishi Triton. As part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, the three companies have agreed to share platforms and development for its commercial vehicles, namely vans, pickups, and SUVs. The engines, interior, and exterior will likely be different from one another, but the chassis and suspension components could be shared among the Alliance.
