Nissan has just announced that it’s releasing a pimped-up version of the NV350 called the ‘Premium GX Urban Chrome’ edition, combining the versatility of a hauler with a mix of added flair and playfulness.
Admittedly, the name’s a bit of a mouthful—the vehicle’s appearance, though, is anything but, thanks to a Phantom Black exterior and a handful of subtle new styling cues.
The unassuming grille up front has been replaced with an attractive V-Motion design featuring a dark chrome finish. This is flanked by large, slightly swept-up LED headlights equipped with daytime running lights.
If you like the grille’s look, you’ll be happy to find plenty of other components treated with the same finish. This includes the side mirrors and the door trim. The front and rear both come equipped with underguards, and the van flaunts an ‘Urban Chrome’ emblem out back, too. Oh, and this runs on slightly rugged 15-inch aluminum wheels as well.
Inside, things are kept relatively mild with tons of fabrics, plastic surfaces, and a familiar dashboard and layout. It does come with some nice tech bits: There’s Nissan’s Intelligent Around View Monitor to make parking a breeze, a one-touch automated sliding door, and intelligent emergency brakes.
No mention of any performance upgrades, so the vehicle—which is Japan-spec—probably still packs either a 2.5-liter YD25DDTi turbodiesel engine or a more modest 2.0-liter QR20DE gasoline motor.
We like how most of the changes have been kept relative subtle, and we’re absolutely digging that snazzy new grille. Would you like to see Nissan Philippines do something similar with local units of the NV350?
