Dongfeng-Nissan has just debuted its latest creation. The electrified Nissan NX8 enters the Chinese market as the first crossover and the third nameplate in the brand’s N-series lineup. The NX8 follows the plug-in hybrid N6 and all-electric N7 sedans, with two electrified powertrain options on offer.
Buyers in China can choose between a fully electric or a range-extended hybrid configuration. Both options have three variants underneath them, offering varying battery sizes and performance outputs.

Those who opt for the range-extended powertrain can spec their NX8 with up to 310km of electric driving range, which then puts its combined distance at 1,450km. On the fully electric side, the top-of-the-line NX8 boasts 650km of range, built on an 800V platform for faster charging and regeneration.

All options, however, are advertised with what Nissan calls “best-in-class seat headroom,” which is listed at 1,285mm. Cargo capacity also remains standard across the lineup, with up to 773 liters of space.

Other features include Zero Gravity seats equipped with artificial intelligence and 25 airbags for massage and support functions. The onboard voice assistant and airflow control system also feature AI, while the head-up display uses augmented reality.
Design-wise, the NX8 adopts a similar fascia to the N7, as it’s been outfitted with the same headlights and light bar. It also looks longer and taller than other compact crossovers in its class, offering an almost MPV-like shape.
