By now, you’ve heard that Nissan is aiming to launch around 30 all-new and/or updated models in the next three years. It’s an ambitious plan, but the company reckons it can hit that target.
With that, the Japanese automaker is working hard to meet that deadline. Recently, it announced that it will launch a new budget crossover for Asia with India being the first market to get it.

The model doesn’t have a name yet, but it is implied that it will be based on the Dacia Duster. The Duster is a B-segment crossover that uses the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s CMF-B platform. A Renault version of the crossover is also in the works.
Not only that, the company released two teaser images for the new model, one as a Nissan and another as a Renault. The Nissan version features the company’s current design language.

Immediately obvious is the distinct LED daytime running light design that runs the width of the front end. It’s a look that we can expect from other future Nissan models. Also seen are angular lines by the bumper, as well as a chiseled hood. Meanwhile, the Renault version looks much like the Dacia model.
That’s all we’ll see from the new budget crossover, at least for now. There will be two versions available for each of these models, one as a five-seater and another with a longer wheelbase and an extra row of seats. These models are likely to be powered by downsized turbo-gas engines from the Alliance family. The inclusion of e-Power technology in the Nissan version seems possible.
Per Nissan and Renault, this new crossover will make its debut in late 2025, so it might take a while before we see production-ready versions of it.
