There’s been a lot of talk about the Suzuki e-Vitara’s possible arrival in the Philippines, especially since its Toyota Urban Cruiser twin has already landed in the market. While we wait for that potential imminent launch, though, we’re starting to get more details about the vehicle.
This time, it’s from Down Under, courtesy of the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). Testing for Suzuki’s electric vehicle has completed, and it’s earned a four-star safety rating.

Looking at the major categories, the e-Vitara scored 31 out of 40 (77%) in adult occupant protection, 43 out of 49 (87%) in child occupant protection, 50.34 out of 63 (79%) in vulnerable road user protection, and 12.78 out of 18 (71%) in safety assist.

The electric crossover provided good protection in critical body regions of all front passengers on frontal and side crash tests. The same goes for child passengers in the second row. In terms of percentages, the e-Vitara loses out on safety tech, where it got no opints for driver-monitoring features. That said, it does still yielded good results when its car-to-car autonomous emergency braking features were tested. The vehicle also gets a seatbelt reminder for all passengers.

We’re still not sure how exactly the Suzuki e-Vitara will be spec’d in the Philippines when it launches, but we do know that it’ll come with advanced driver-assist systems. It’ll also have the same powertrain as the Urban Cruiser with 172hp and 193Nm of torque. In any case, once this EV finally launches, we’ll keep you posted with more details.
