After being previewed locally in June, the 2026 Suzuki Fronx has officially made its Philippine debut, arriving in the market with three variants and a starting price of P1.059 million.
That price will nab you the base GL spec, which packs a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 103hp and 138Nm of torque. The gasoline-only powertrain is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

The higher GLX and SGX variants, meanwhile, make use of the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki setup that combines the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a 12V mild-hybrid system, attached to a single electric motor. Overall, it makes less power and torque at 99hp and 135Nm, but it’s paired with a more robust six-speed automatic.

The top-spec SGX is loaded with a larger nine-inch infotainment display, a heads-up display, and an advanced driver-assist system dubbed Suzuki Safety Support. It includes functions like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring features, weaving alerts, and autonomous emergency braking via Dual Sensor Brake Support II.

Suzuki’s new subcompact crossover measures 3,995mm long, 1,765mm wide, and 1,550mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,250mm and a ground clearance of 170mm. Interestingly, while the Fronx is styled to look like an SUV-inspired coupe, it shares the same length as the shorter Dzire, with a similar cargo capacity at 384 liters.

The introduction of the Fronx in the local market marks the first appearance of Suzuki Safety Support in the country. During our first drive of the new subcompact crossover, the ADAS worked smoothly, and the ride proved to be cushy and comfortable.
The Fronx will be Suzuki’s contender against the likes of the popular Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. It looks like this model will be opening a new chapter for the Japanese carmaker—after all, its name is a combination of the words ‘frontier’ and ‘next.’ Clever, huh?
