Project-car guys and girls, rejoice: Toyota Gazoo Racing has announced that it will be producing brand-new parts for the AE86 chassis. If your 4A-GE-type Corolla Levin or Sprinter Trueno needs a new cylinder head sub-assembly or cylinder block sub-assembly, then you’ve just hit jackpot.
The reissuing of these AE86 parts is the latest initiative of the GR Heritage Parts Project, which aims to keep classic Toyota cars running with manufacturer-made and improved new parts.

The reissued cylinder head sub-assembly will feature more cam cap knock pins than the original iteration to “improve assembly workability,” according to Toyota. Meanwhile, the cylinder block sub-assembly should be more durable than ever, as it’s now made with higher-rigidity cast iron with an improved crank-cap structure.

These parts will be available for preorder at the Initial D 30th anniversary event at the Fuji Speedway on September 13 and 14, 2025. The delivery of the actual parts is scheduled for May 2026, but no official prices have been shared.
At the event, the GR Heritage Parts booth will also be displaying a rebuilt AE86, featuring parts reissued by Toyota Gazoo Racing. There are currently 200 parts for eight vintage Toyota models on the GR Heritage Parts catalogue, which includes four Land Cruiser generations and two Supra models.
