In celebration of the Toyota Corolla’s 60th anniversary, the Corolla Cross has received a new Z Adventure variant in Japan. Along with a few new colors, this Z Adventure also gets an additional set of accessories and some tech updates.
Right away, you’ll notice the new radiator grille with a distinct blacked-out ‘C’ emblem. It’s then supported by a thick front bumper with a silver garnish below. That same pattern can be found on the rear bumper, while a special 60th anniversary badge is slapped on the front fender.
A new industrial pattern has then been applied to the 17-inch wheels, which also get a clean matte gray finish. However, what really ties the whole look together is the two-tone Black and Urban Khaki colorway. It’s a much more neutral shade of blue that should look seamless on the road. Platinum White Pearl Mica and Mud Bath finishes are also available with black roofs.

Inside, a silver metallic trim was added to the dashboard and the steering wheel. Speaking of the wheel, Toyota also equipped it with a heating function, which can be engaged through a new button by the center console. The seats also get a matching two-tone finish, with synthetic leather and fabric upholstery supporting all five passengers.
In terms of safety improvements, the Corolla Cross Z Adventure gets an updated panoramic-view monitor, featuring a transparent underfloor display. A blind-spot monitor has also been added, along with a parking support brake, which helps detect objects when backing out. Toyota also added a separate parking support brake function for pedestrians. Finally, a safe disembarkation feature has been added to warn alighting passengers of oncoming cyclists, pedestrians, or vehicles.
