The Toyota Fortuner has been around for quite sometime already. It made its world premiere in 2015, meaning it’s getting close to a decade old now. An all-new model is slated for 2025, so it’s not too long of a wait now.
With the impeding premiere of the redesigned model, it seems that Toyota is coming up with a few specials before the current Fortuner bows out. That’s exactly the case over in Indonesia.

Over there, the Fortuner gets the Gazoo Racing treatment. No, it’s not quite what we were hoping for. Instead, it’s a new GR bodykit of the popular SUV. Well, it’s something.
It’s not a new special edition or any of that. Instead, it’s an optional extra for the existing model. Also, this kit is specifically made for the lower-spec models. For local context, this GR kit will fit the 2.4V and 2.4G variants.
The GR kit adds a deeper front chin that integrates LED daytime running lights on the lower corners of the bumper. It gives a unique look to front end of the SUV, which should give it a little more distinction among the sea of other Fortuners.

Over at the back, it also gets exterior enhancements. More specifically, an enhancement. The rear bumper adds a kit that makes it appear lower than stock. It also adds a faux diffuser for a sportier look. Curiously, there are no GR badges on sight aside from small tags on the kits.
It’s only available in Indonesia, at least for now. There might be a chance it’ll be sold here given that the Philippine-spec Fortuner is made there.
